8-Day Ultimate Northern Tanzania Safari and Lake Natron
This 8-day and 7-night Tanzanian wildlife safari has been designed to meet the requirements of visitors with limited time to spend in Northern Tanzania. You will visit the Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara Serengeti National Parks, and Lake Natron for 8 days. This tour is based on budget accommodation. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest uninterrupted caldera and one of Africa’s natural wonders. The crater is home to about 30,000 large resident mammals (such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and rhinos) and many varieties of birds (such as flamingos, eagles, and buzzards. Keep your camera ready and be ready to see many animals within a short time!
The Serengeti National Park has accommodations located in five specific migration focused areas as noted below. The park also has various seasonal mobile accommodations located in distinct areas of the park that tracks the wildebeest migration movement. Day to Day Activities
Day 1: Welcome Tanzania – Arusha
Upon your arrival, you will find our company representative at the airport waiting for you with a special board featuring your name. He will drive you directly to your accommodations in Arusha so you can relax and get ready for your safari. On the way, he will explain different things about our beautiful country and peaceful people before engaging on an optional city tour..
Day 2:mTarangire National Park – Elephants Paradise
You will depart from Arusha in the morning and head to Tarangire National Park, arriving before midday. Once in the park, you will be able to enjoy both a morning and afternoon game drive with a delicious lunch in the afternoon. In the early evening, after your game drive, you will exit the park and make your way to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up with a Tanzanian smile from your lodgings for the drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha, is so named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good seventy percent of the park’s land. After your full day in the park, you will drive to our lodgings, where you will relax and enjoy a sumptuous meal with our comfortable quarters awaiting you.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Endless Plains
You’ll depart Karatu in the morning after a hearty breakfast and make your way to the famous Serengeti National Park. En route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will have a chance to see some views of the Ngorongoro Crater before reaching the Serengeti gate. After lunch, you will head out on an afternoon game drive to look for some of the wild game before sunset and dinner at the campsite.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Today, you will head out early on your morning game drive for a chance to witness a magnificent African sunrise in the bush. You’ll head out after a cup of coffee and experience the wilderness and its magnificent creatures as they wake up among the dew-covered grasses. Later, you will head back to camp for breakfast and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will head out once more for another chance to explore the plains in search of African wildlife as you exit the park. Late afternoon you will be heading to Ngorongoro for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will drive heading to Ngorongoro Crater. You will depart the campsite with a picnic lunch and descend into the amazing Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll explore the magnificent world of diversity that lies within, surrounded by the imposing walls that encircle the reserve. It is possible to see all of Africa’s Big Five within the crater among a vast array of other wildlife, including hundreds of bird species. You’ll enjoy a full day in the crater before heading back to Ngorongoro Simba Campsite for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Lake Natron
After breakfast, you will head to Lake Natron. The drives from the Ngorongoro conservation area are remote, with a desolate, other-worldly beauty and an incomparable feeling of space and antiquity.
The roads pass through untraveled Maasai land, with small bomas and big mountains often in view in a wild, cauterized landscape. From June to November, at the lake, around two million flamingos gather. On the way to the lodge, you can make a stop at the hot springs. You will stay overnight at Africa Safari Lake Natron.
The lodge has a swimming pool that is embedded in its surrounding landscapes and comes complete with stunning views of neighboring Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, a still-active volcano. You’ll enjoy the view from the lodge. You can take a 10-minute walk to the lake with your guide.
Day 8: Lake Natron – Arusha
In the morning, your guide will take you for an adventurous walk to the waterfalls (make sure to bring walking shoes). Several Maasai villages are found nearby and your guide for the hike will be a Maasai. After lunch, you will drive exiting the lake returning back to Arusha.

Short answer: no. Public restroom facilities are few and far between within national parks. If the call of nature hits while you’re out on safari and you can’t hold it until you get back to camp, you’ll be paying a stop to the bush toilet.
