The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest uninterrupted caldera and one of Africa’s natural wonders. The crater is home to about 30,000 large resident mammals (such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and rhinos) and many varieties of birds (such as flamingos, eagles, and buzzards. Keep your camera ready and be ready to see many animals within a short time!
The Serengeti National Park has accommodations located in five specific migration focused areas as noted below. The park also has various seasonal mobile accommodations located in distinct areas of the park that tracks the wildebeest migration movement. Day to Day Activities
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! A Lion King representative will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will have time to relax and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime! Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania, and most travelers pass through at some stage.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your Lion King Safari guide will collect you from your accommodation after breakfast. This morning, you will drive to Tarangire National Park. The transit drive is approximately two and a half hours on good tarmac roads. After your game drive, you will transit to your accommodation in Karatu.
Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive up into the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There will be a chance to stop and see the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. You will then transit through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti, entering the south of the park.You will have a picnic lunch and overnight at a luxury tented camp in Central Serengeti.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
This entire day is set aside for game drives in the Serengeti. The Serengeti boasts an abundance of wildlife, such as impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo. In addition to the iconic landscapes, you have a good chance of encountering predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. It is a truly life-changing experience! Today, it is possible to do early morning and late afternoon game drives, returning to the camp for lunch. Otherwise, a full day’s game drive with a picnic lunch in the park.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will wind your way toward Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying more wonderful sights on the way! After an entire afternoon inside the crater, you will drive to your accommodation in Karatu. Steep volcanic walls conceal Ngorongoro Crater, a pristine wilderness with sweeping savannah, acacia woodland pockets, glistening lakes, and swamps. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself, and when you reach the crater floor, you will quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park
This morning, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park—your final destination on this epic safari! Lake Manyara National Park is a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. Everything you will see here is on a different scale. It is both compact (one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). The park’s namesake is a shallow salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of wading birds (including flamingos and over 500 other bird species). You may see baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest and look out for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. After your game drive, we will drop you off at a place you choose, e.g., Arusha, Kilimanjaro International Airport, or Arusha Airport. We hope you have enjoyed your adventure with Lion King Adventures!

Short answer: no. Public restroom facilities are few and far between within national parks. If the call of nature hits while you’re out on safari and you can’t hold it until you get back to camp, you’ll be paying a stop to the bush toilet.
